Dear Readers,
I would like to thank all of you for enjoying our publication. The PAO staff has worked long and hard to get this out to you. I am very proud of the work that C/MSgt Frye, C/SSgt Ayala, and C/SSgt Cocozzelli have done. Always remember what you have learned here at Fort Drum. Always be a leader!

Rotorary Wing Aircraft Tour
The NCO Academy went to Wheeler-Sack Army Air Field to see and learn about the helicopters they have there. All the cadets had a fun time. Most of all, the cadets got to sit in the helicopter and move the controls. They also got to wear the pilot’s helmet. The instructor told them about what gear they use in the winter. All of the cadets had a great time and the instructor was outstanding.

Obstacle Course
Today
cadets went to the obstacle course. Most of them really enjoyed it although
some found it very difficult. All the cadets got very dirty. (

NCO Academy goes rappelling
This afternoon, the NCO Academy went to Fort Drum’s rappelling tower. All of the cadets had to rappel off of a small slanted tower before going off of the 45-foot-tall vertical tower. A few cadets fell, but the belayer pulled on the ropes and stopped them from falling. The cadets who slipped got right back up again and continued down the tower. (

Letter to the Editor
Dear PAO,
I just want all the flights
to know they are doing an awesome job. I had my doubts about being Group 1st
Sgt, especially before encampment and two days after day 0. But now everyone is
motivated, which is great. I love hearing the creative motivation checks and
announcing warrior flight. Though encampment is going to end soon, keep up the
great work!
Group 1st Sgt
